As someone who had a hard time sharing anything with her two sisters, I can’t imagine how challenging it is to have to share stuff with stepsiblings. Learning how to share your parents is hard enough, who wants to be forced to share birthday presents as well?

The stepsisters in the story below are currently dealing with this problem, and their parents are not successful in solving the conflict. To celebrate the older daughter’s 16th birthday, her (biological) dad bought her tickets to a Billie Eilish concert. Now, her stepsister, his 14-year-old stepdaughter, is demanding to tag along, claiming she deserves to take part in the celebration.

However, up until now, she had shown no interest in her stepsister and has been blaming her stepfather for her parents’ divorce. This behavior caused the stepdad to refuse her demand to come to the concert, despite his wife’s (her mom’s) claims that he should let it go and allow her to join.
