Considering how the average full-time employee spends a decent chunk of their lives in the workplace, you might think that there would be a focus on making it a pleasant place to be. Unfortunately, in many cases this could not be further from the truth (unless you count the occasional rationed pizza party). While it may be true that nothing in life is a wonderful experience all of the time, and even that occasionally doing things we dislike can be good for us, a lot of having a job can feel like all stick and no carrot.

Still, we all need to earn a living somehow. Unless we are willing to take on the mighty task of being our own boss or we have some kind of inherited wealth to fall back on, we have no choice but to clock in. At least it allows us to relate to all the funny memes about the experience.
