When you have been around just about long enough to watch a couple of trend cycles come and go, it is wild to witness the stuff that somehow stands the test of time versus what becomes decidedly uncool. As a teenager in the early 2010s, I remember when that curly moustache tattoo that people got on their pointer finger was on the Pinterest board of every wannabe hipster, and now it is the kind of thing that they pay good money to get removed.
Wearing Uggs, meanwhile, was something that went through a phase of being peak millennial cheuginess (a word that in itself has fallen out of fashion) to a savvy rebrand that got many Zoomers sporting a pair. Following this logic, perhaps a revival of facial hair-inspired body art is just around the corner. They are the kind of trend that someone annoying might enjoy in a kind of post-post-ironic way.
