Credit can be a delicate thing. You work your whole life to build it, and you hope that one wrong move doesn’t send it down the tubes. Because after all, credit is important. Especially if you’re a young person trying to become independent, credit is the thing that says to the world that you’re financially responsible. It helps you get apartments and credit cards, ultimately earning the chance to build more credit. Some bad moves early on in your life can have consequences that ricochet throughout your adulthood. You would hate to be sabotaged that early on.
But what if the call was coming from inside the house, so to speak? What if the person who is ruining your credit was the one who was actually supposed to protect you? That’s what happened in this story, where a young woman’s mom tried to pass off a sticky situation as a birthday gift. But the daughter was smart enough to see through it and wasn’t going to let her get away with it. The daughter was then left wondering what to do.
