Enablers are some of the nicest people in the world. All they want is for everyone to be happy and protected from themselves, and they will do anything to make it happen. They will continue to send money to someone who has proven time and time again that they don’t respect the dollar, nor the people who keep sending them money to get them out of the problems they created. Enablers want to help, but they’re making a monster by helping without addressing the underlying issues with the people they’re helping.

You can’t control what somebody else does, but you can stop bailing them out when they do stupid stuff. Not helping someone can actually be the most significant life lesson you can give them. Sometimes, not bailing someone out isn’t enough. Sometimes you have to ensure that someone faces the full consequences of their actions, letting them hit rock bottom, so they can either stay there or learn to rise to the occasion and fix their life.
