The concept of a cat is kind of ridiculous.

What do you mean, we are all one shelter visit away from having some furry little guy in our house that wanders around, sleeps in awkward places, and gets the 3 AM zoomies? If it were not for the price of upkeep and the time that is needed to care for them, plenty of people would happily go full crazy cat lady if they could. Our feline friends manage to be such entertaining company while also doing very little.

However, most of us do not have the means to surround ourselves with cats 24/7 in the real-life sense. There is no need to mourn, though, as we can still do the next best thing by consuming as many cat memes as humanly possible. Introducing us to the delightful possibility of cats we may never have even thought about had we not logged on, they manage to slot themselves into all manner of amusing scenarios. The internet has brought us many wonderful things, but few of them can claim to have the impact and reach that slapping a punchline on a silly picture of a cat has given the world.
