Interviewer ghosts job applicant for merchandising job, he signs him up for spam calls in retaliation: ‘I was literally perfect for the job’

An unsuccessful job interview can be a mighty blow to the ego.

The way that job searching is today, there is no telling how much work a person may have to put in before they manage to land just one interview somewhere. Then, there is all the preparation that goes into learning about the employer, and preparing the perfect answers to potential questions; after that, it is all but inevitable that they will start dreaming about what their new life could be like if only they could land this role.

However, getting an interview does not always mean that an offer is a sure thing. Even the most well-suited and well-prepared of candidates can be passed over for somebody else, and the reasoning is not always going to make sense to the applicant. It is easy to feel like the whole process isn’t fair, and a lot of the time, it kind of isn’t.

Nonetheless, it is usually not worth wasting valuable energy on anger towards an employer that it seems you would not be a good fit for anyway. It is demoralizing to be rejected, but moving forward is the only thing likely to get you closer to a decent job.
