The Best Relatable Work Memes This Week

For many people, the best thing about work is signing off for another day.

This may be closely followed by lunchtime, and of course, the best feeling of all: getting ready for the weekend. The reality is that for a significant chunk of the working population, what it is they do with the bulk of their time for the sake of an income is not something that they would be doing if they didn’t have to. We have bills to pay, and that is the main motivator for showing up. Even then, some aren’t all that great at doing that.

It’s true that when payday still seems like an age away, the motivations for sitting down and roleplaying as a productive member of a capitalist society can be lacking. Quite a lot of the jobs that are supposedly an integral part of our economy could not be further removed from what most kids want to be when they grow up. While throwing ourselves into work can put off any existential crises, that is only a stopgap measure.

While they may be primarily used as a means of procrastination, work memes can also pull off the feat of making us more engaged with whatever it is that we do for a living. Although they complain, they put us back in the mindset of what it is we do and how we can better do it in a way to make the weekend appear faster. They serve a purpose, other than just relatable humor.
