Dad rents a park pavilion for his daughter’s first birthday, shows up to find a stranger occupying it with no reservation, and pushed to involve authorities to make him leave

Showing up to a reserved pavilion and finding a stranger already set up with a cooler is annoying. Finding out he moved your reservation placard to a different spot, never actually booked anything, and had a retired cop card ready to play is a full Saturday

The confidence required to just take a public pavilion and wait for the people who paid for it to figure something else out is genuinely impressive in a terrible way. No reservation, no receipt, no plan beyond occupying the space and projecting enough certainty that everyone around him would do the math and leave. It almost worked too, because his version of events got to the cops before the receipt did.
