Employee walks out on job after boss continually threw things, yelled at her employees: ‘She screamed so hard she would turn entirely red’

Would you walk out of a job where you were getting yelled at?

For most of us, that is a pretty clear situation. No job is worth your dignity. If you’re walking into work and being disrespected, there is no reason to continue going. That’s exactly what the person in this story did, and they shared their experience over on the r/antiwork subreddit. You deserve to work with people who see your worth and want to reward you for your work. Even if you mess up, you don’t need someone yelling in your face about it. There are other ways to deal with that, like adults. There is never any reason to take out your own pain and frustration on an unsuspecting bystander. If you’re not a toddler anymore, which you probably aren’t, given the fact that you have a job, then you have to handle your problems as such. You can’t just expect that everyone is going to bend to your will and do what you want them to do. Intimidation is no way to lead; it only creates fear. If people only do what you want them to do out of fear, then that will not last forever. As soon as they get wise and realize that they don’t have to work in an environment that doesn’t encourage and reward them. The best bosses know how to lead with kindness, not with intimidation. The bosses in this story needed to learn that, but had a long way to go.
