A woman’s fiancé picked a fancy restaurant for dinner, then pinned the bill on his future wife’s parents. Torn between her future and her past, as well as the lingering guilt of a $600+ receipt, this woman’s moral compass spun in all directions.
She quickly dashed online to Reddit, posting her story on r/AmIOverreacting, hoping to gauge the temperature of her particular grievances, but it seems as if the entire internet can be in agreement on this one. What do you think?
In my opinion, the person who invites everyone else to dinner (ie: the chump who picks an expensive restaurant just to flex) is supposed to foot the bill. The invitees shouldn’t be expected to shoulder the burden of the host’s choice, especially when that includes a $200 slab of wagyu beef, a signature smoky cocktail, and an entitled bad attitude.
