The dedication of the average LOTR fan knows no bounds.

More often than not, they will consume everything and anything that claims to fall under the banner of Middle-earth (and they will give withering critiques of its quality when it is not up to standard). They are generally committed to regular rereads and rewatches of the classics, and many make a point of doing the pilgrimage to New Zealand to see some of the movie sets. They also do cosplays, name everything from dogs to kids to businesses inspired by LOTR, and generally commit a significant chunk of their time to appreciating it. 

This is most obviously shown in the ways in which all things Tolkien have infiltrated the internet in the guise of amusing memes. The LOTR fandom is renowned for its sense of humor, which most often reveals itself in the dumb little images that they create in homage to their beloved series. Even the people who barely know their Bilbo from their Frodo can probably name some of the most famous LOTR-related memes if they have spent enough time scrolling their life away. They are just that prolific.

Given all the work that Tolkien memers put into supplying us with some of the best fandom-based memes there are, it is only fair that we continue to honor that with this regular installment of the highlights. It just goes to show how a great work of art can continue to inspire other great works when it is given the opportunity.
