‘It’s LeviOsa, not LeviosA’: 25 Harry Potter memes for all booksmart girlies that see themselves in Hermione

«Honestly, don’t you two read?» Is the iconic Hermione question I keep asking my friends every time we have a conversation about anything.

I have always been the teacher’s pet, and let me tell you, it’s a difficult full-time job. Keeping up with the required reading material takes up all of your life, but I need to be able to answer all the questions correctly. I know all the other students find us annoying, but you’re welcome for all of the notes you definitely need all of the time.

As a studious nerd, I have obviously read and fallen in love with all of the Harry Potter stories. Hermione, our queen, was also a teacher’s pet, and we love her all the more for it. If it wasn’t for her, Ron and Harry would not have lasted a year.

She has so many iconic moments and phrases in both the films and novels that made all of us booksmart girls feel seen and appreciated during our childhood. A sassy girl who reads all day, knows exactly where to look for the answer to everything, and has huge hair? Yes please. I stole my entire personality from her, especially the thing about the hair, and being called a «talking encyclopedia.»

Some famous female characters from the 90s and early 2000s make women look ditsy, even if the movie was fun. That little demeaning detail itched inside our brains. That’s why we all ended up loving Hermione since the day we met her: she’s smart, outspoken, confident, and brave. And yes, also girly, or didn’t you see her dress at the Yule Ball? She proved to us all that you can be feminine and also well respected within your own area of expertise, and we definitely needed that kind of encouragement. Even if you’re not obsessed with reading, seeing that type of character serves as a good source of inspiration

All there is to say is that she’s an icon, we love her, and all these memes are to remember her and her priceless help with getting our confidence up as young magical girls.
