This is most likely how the Baby Boomers felt about us

Apparently, this is the law of life. We grow older, and we don’t understand the generations that come after us; not only do we not understand them, but we also highly underestimate them, just like our parents did when they didn’t approve of our ‘trashy music’ or the way we used to do our hair.

The passage of time and life itself work like that, and we are only going to follow along. We can’t fight nature; we think the Gen Alpha memes are ridiculous, we say brainrot is ruining the minds of an entire generation, and we lament that nobody reads anymore, or that they don’t get together outside, or that they don’t talk to each other even if they are side by side on a 6-hour car ride.

Sincerely, the only thing left to do to counteract the crisis is to laugh it off, and that’s what we’re about to do.

Personally, I haven’t decided if I want to be a ‘cool’ old person, learn every buzzword and understand every meme, or just give in to my bitter old-lady instincts and become the neighbourhood witch. I mean, somebody has to do it; we can’t all be ‘cool’; somebody has to be the creepy old person who still uses a rotary phone.

Give me a few years, and I will leave all technology behind and only use my broom. If kids eventually raise their eyes from their iPads, or their parents want to scare them into going to bed, that’s where I come in, in my highly important role as the ‘neighbourhood’s-chronically-stuck-in-the-past witch’.

Let’s all just laugh while we can.
