Hey doc, can you spell out that formula legibly, please?

A hospital visit is never fun. Well, rarely. Most of the time, if you’re there, it means you’re feeling unwell. Runny nose, raspy throat, you know, the works. On other occasions, the story might be as follows: you leave home feeling peachy and looking put together. You rush out because your Uber is waiting, only to fall on a random patch of ice. I’m not speaking from experience or anything. If I were, I would also mention that I was wearing a skirt. If it were a true story, it would have been super embarrassing. So much so that it still gives me cringe moments now and then… I mean, it would have given me some cringy thoughts if it had actually happened. 

Okay, okay. It did happen to me, and when I got to the doctor’s office, it was filled with little kids. In the doctor’s words, I had a very «common in children» type of injury. It was sooo fun being the only patient there that didn’t require a responsible adult’s signature. The cherry on top was that the fall was recorded on my apartment building’s security camera. Just in case someone wants to relive the comedy special that is my pain. 

Don’t worry about me, I’m fine. Time has passed; my heel has healed. The patch is still there every year. All is well, and now I only wear flat shoes, just in case. The memory haunts me to this day, though, and it happened to cross my mind just now. So I present you with a very funny meme collection that reminds me of my time in the ER. They might not look like it, but doctors are comedians. So, next time you have no other choice but to pay a visit to your doctor, show them this collection. It won’t cure you, and it won’t change your doctor’s burned-out schedule, but it will make you laugh. We’re not PhDs, but laughter truly is the best medicine.
