How can a kid grow up too fast and not fast enough at the same time?

When they’re little, we cannot help but wonder what their adult life will look like. What career path they’ll take, what friends they’ll have, and even if they’ll have a family of their own. Every single milestone is wonderful. The first step, the first word, the first decision made, the first…act of disobedience? The thought of being able to have a conversation with them is exciting, and to slowly see them become the people they’ll be as grown-ups truly fills our hearts. That said, when reality pulls you back, time starts to go by too fast, and before you even realise what happened, your little sweet innocent baby has turned into a terrific, loud, and a little smelly teenager.

There is nothing like getting scolded by a 13-year-old to make you relive your youth and think back on every moment you decided the best way out of punishment was a talking-back marathon. The universe does have a sense of humour, after all. Thankfully, so do we.
