‘I came for the headliner’: 21 Music festival memes running on food truck fries and 1% phone battery

At some point during a music festival, the group chat becomes a collection of terrible directions sent over a very poor signal.

«I’m in the middle, by the big speakers». Great. We are literally at a place built around big speakers. Could you be more specific?

You and your group of friends entered all together. There was a plan. Everyone wanted to see the same headliner, and meeting up beforehand at a strategic meeting point sounded easy when you discussed it somewhere quiet. Now one friend is watching another set, somebody has gone to the bathroom, and the person who promised they’d stay right there has moved. That’s when you start to believe you’ll see your friends again when the festival ends. Let’s try to prevent that from happening.

Finding the food trucks is more straightforward. People have one mission: getting fries. You follow the people carrying fries so they guide you to the spot. Then you join a line and watch every order that comes out, wondering whether yours will look that good. And it does. When it’s your turn in the line, it is worth all the wait. You can walk away proudly, saying yes, these are my fries. You can get one of these at the stand over there.
