25 Joyful Job Hunting Meme Jewels for The Jobless Comedian in You

Are we still supposed to add pictures to our CV?

Recently, I had my first day of work. Not my first ever day, but my first day at my newest job. I had forgotten the feeling. Like the first day of school, being the new kid means you know no one. It is like entering someone else’s home. The only unfamiliar object there is you, while everyone else shares year-long relationships and knowledge about each other. It is nerve-wracking, having to introduce yourself over and over again, trying to summarise your entire personality in one sentence, hoping you don’t say or do the wrong thing. Trying to navigate through a new community while also figuring out where you fit in it. No matter how many times you do it, it’s always a unique experience.

It almost feels like you have a blindfold on. You find yourself trying to understand who is who and what they’re expecting of you, being unsure of every little step at first. But, little by little, the blindfold comes off, and you start to feel like a fish in water. Again, just like in school, you make friends, have a laugh with your teachers, and even start getting good grades. As time goes by, you become part of this very complex ecosystem.
