If you regularly visit this site, you will be more than aware that the app we aren’t supposed to be calling Twitter any more has undergone numerous massive changes over the past few months. The whole thing has turned into a game of ‘what vanity project and/or desperate profit-chasing incentive will Elon Musk introduce next?’. 

We’ve covered a fair few of these on Memebase, but one we haven’t yet approached is also one of the most amusing. Introduced late last year, Community Notes are the platform’s attempt at letting its users fact check viral posts and images that might be misleading.

It didn’t take long for this persnickety feature to have some funny side effects, especially when dealing with the more bold-faced liars that it comes across. Being the living embodiment of the Ackchyually Guy can get annoying, but with these examples it is totally a worthwhile thing to do.
