Showing love to your partner without saying anything has become even easier!

Before, we could show our partners that we loved them with just physical touch, like a hug or a little kiss. We didn’t have to say a word for our point to get through. But what would you do if I told you that with all the changes that we have faced with new technologies, now it was easier than ever? It seems as if most couples were measuring how much their partner loves them by how many messages they get from them. If they just send one saying «I love you», that wouldn’t be enough. Now you have to be sending day updates every 5 minutes, so they get the fact that you actually care about them. The new discovery is that now you can send them a bunch of text messages with cute couple memes so they feel like you’re spamming them and, therefore, feel more loved.

This is mainly a joke, but there is some truth in it. I have heard friends saying things like «he doesn’t love me anymore, he didn’t write to me once today». And I completely get the feeling that they think that some other thing that isn’t you is more interesting. That they are ignoring you because they have better things to do. But that isn’t necessarily true. They can be busy, or stressed, or not feeling like chatting. And we, as partners, have to accept that and simply verbalize the fact that we feel a little displaced. Not assuming that they hate us because they didn’t send us one message.

So what if we all just calmed ourselves and understood that just because somebody isn’t updating you about every move they make, it doesn’t mean they don’t love you anymore. We are people with lives. You shouldn’t be expecting or even wanting somebody to stop everything they are doing just to send a meaningless message. Maybe just accept that they are busy and talk to them after they are done with their things. Or don’t. It’s basically up to you!
