Why is he always the one who has to give up his room?

My grandpa always used to say, «It’s tough being a kid,» and he was 100% right. It’s hard to be in a social class of people who don’t have real say over anything that happens to them at any given time. Kids are at their parents’ mercy. If they have good parents, they will have the opportunity to make their own decisions, like what afterschool sport to play, while also receiving guidance and boundaries on matters they can’t make informed decisions about, like bedtime and screentime. 

Kids are entitled to sleep in a bed. Anything less than that is unacceptable. Kids might have to share a bedroom with multiple siblings due to their economic situation, but if they are without a bed for an extended period, there is something wrong in their household.
