Like pretty much all sciences, chemistry is a totally mind-blowing concept. Everything that our five senses have ever come across and processed is made up of tiny particles that we can’t even see. That is crazy. 

At this point, there are 118 elements on the periodic table and if chemistry-loving meme makers tried hard enough, they could probably produce funny pictures about all of them. As it stands, the chemists of the world don’t seem to have got that far.

Nonetheless, they set a respectable example for themselves by being great contributors to the world of nerdy internet humor. Atoms and molecules are prone to doing a lot of wild things that make for surprisingly compelling meme inspiration. It’s the perfect way for those ignorant about the ways of science to have a chemistry lesson without feeling like they’re in a remedial high school class. Who said memes never taught us anything?
