When it comes to 80s kid’s movies with a dedicated cult following, Labyrinth (1986) has to be somewhere near the top of the list. It boasts countless reasons for being iconic, and not all of them revolve around the suspect choices made by the wardrobe department for David Bowie’s character. The soundtrack bangs, it’s full of awesome Jim Henson creations, and the fantasy tale of one girl’s quest to retrieve her baby brother still captivates viewers almost forty years later. 

One thing I bet nobody who worked on this film could have predicted is that it has provided plenty of material for memes. The colliding worlds of Sarah and The Goblin King produce some great relatable and fandom-based humor. It doesn’t matter if you can recite the script word-for-word, or if you just watched it once when you were a kid.
