The powers that be can get away with literally whatever they want. The proof is in the «service fee» you have to pay whenever you make an online payment, or the subscription service you’re forced to join in order to continue using a thing you thought you owned, or that unpaid lunch break that extends your work day. Sometimes it feels like we’re being straight up scammed by every institution in existence, and yet society continues to accept it. A bunch of annoyed folks got together on r/AskReddit to list all the scammy BS most of us have to deal with on a daily basis.
