When TikTok got banned for 14 hours last month, and everyone was panicking about which social media app would fill the created void, Tumblr was one of the options some of us leaned into.

While this social media platform could not be more different from TikTok, it is a place some of us spent most of our teenage years on, so it might be nice to return to it after all those years. Now, I don’t know the statistics, but during that short ban, I am sure Tumblr saw the impact it had and welcomed many new and old accounts to the platform. 

Even though Tumblr doesn’t have the state-of-the-art algorithm and For You page like other platforms, it still has its charm. A witty and dark sense of humor you don’t get to see anywhere else. There is also a sense of community there that I personally love and always enjoy going back to on my visits to Tumblr, which happens with or without TikTok being banned.
