Here’s one trick therapists don’t want you to know: Jokes! That’s right, kiddos. The cure to your debilitating trauma that has you crying in the shadow and curled up in the dark wondering why you were even born can all go away if you just laugh at it. Trauma? More like material for your stand-up comedy routine! Ha! Ha! Ha… Okay, for real though, humor is great, but it can only take you so far. We were just kidding. That’s right, if you learn to befriend the dark parts of yourself that you tend to suppress or cough joke about cough then you might just start to love yourself. Prioritize yourself.
