Could dressing up with your friends this Halloween give you the perfect new group chat picture?

In my friend group, that spot has to be earned. We don’t update it every time we take a new photo together. The current one stays until we get a picture so good that it deserves to replace it. Besides, we can love a new photo and still feel that the old one has something special. So a new one must be really good to feel the need to upgrade it. 

I’m a little sentimental about it. The group chat picture becomes familiar after seeing it beside our conversations every day. I associate it with the people I’m about to talk to and whatever was happening when we took it. Replacing it means choosing another little moment to keep around.

Halloween seems like an excellent opportunity to take a photo that earns the upgrade. I’m already excited by the idea of everyone showing up in costumes that belong together. I want the full picture, with every character accounted for, before somebody loses an accessory or decides their wig has become unbearable. First, we have to agree on the costumes.
