Some of you can’t wait until the roasted ham comes swiftly out of the oven on December 25th, while most of you… have all the time in the world before heading into the familial arena for battle. The issue isn’t Christmas; Our family members have a funny way of turning every major holiday into another reason for everyone to fight until Aunt Rachel runs out crying, and your grandpa has a health scare because of all the tension.

Not every holiday ends up this way, because you are likely the mediator who tries to get everyone in line, so, at the very least, we can trust Uncle Andy with the knife while he is cutting the apple pie. Kidding! But, seriously… These holidays are no joke.

While some of you are praying for awkward silences because that means that everyone decided to shush up for the day, others are trying to fill them. Awkward silences have a million words in them, and everyone speaks with their eyes. Nobody wants to talk about the things that matter because you all probably disagree with one another, and who needs another reason to enter the familial arena?
