Back in our youth, introverts were far more social. Eager to make friends and be accepted by our peers, we were friendly, engaging, and tried our hardest to plan things. At least, when I was younger, I was a regular socialite, planning big birthday parties, activities, and other events to orchestrate some semblance of a community. However, I learned as I grew up that it was all for naught.
We only metamorphosize into our fully fledged antisocial self in our later years as we learn the follies of extroversion. With so much effort trying to keep friendly relations with those around us, we forget to prioritize ourselves, neglecting our dwindling social battery and withdrawing from our schedule, well-deserved me-time. With age, comes wisdom and many of us proud introverts will gladly cancel plans if we’re not up to it. If the social climate seems too costly, why bother? With that, I present to you, a collection of memes that’ll surely tickle your fancy if you’ve ever taken a mental health day just so that you wouldn’t have to talk to anyone else that day.
