A manicure? More like a necessity!

Getting your nails done can be just that: time spent at the salon for your nails to look better. But it can be a lot more than that to some people. Going out is, in the first place, a necessary part of life; being always stuck at home isn’t healthy at all, so if going out to get your nails painted is your way of finally coming out of your room, then it is much more than just getting your nails painted. To others, it’s necessary to get them done to stop biting them when they are stressed or for anxiety reasons. Others only feel pretty and comfortable with their physical self when they have them done. So then, for different people, getting to the salon can be very different.

When a girl or a woman is too feminine, it is common to start hearing comments about it, pretty mean ones especially. As if being feminine made a woman less intelligent, capable, or able. It doesn’t. Your style, whether it is stereotypically feminine, masculine, androgynous, or whatever, doesn’t define how you are mentally or your capabilities. It is just another trait that can define you when you are being described physically, but it’s definitely not a trait that makes you less of a person or less deserving of anything. You are who you are no matter what style you like or feel comfortable in. 

If getting your nails done or going to the salon is important to you for any reason, then do so. Stop being defined by stereotypes that other people put on your persona, and that don’t actually matter to you. You can like something, and that does not make you any less clever. Being feminine is just that, a fun fact in the world of knowledge that’s stored in your brain. You aren’t what you wear; you are what you are capable of being. So get your nails done, make them insanely long, paint them neon colors; it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t make you less serious or any less deserving of respect.
