Your kid needs this, your baby needs that, if you’re tired do this, if your kid is throwing a tantrum do that, bla bla bla. Come on, parents—you’re sick of all of that. Sure, you love that you’re a parent and your kid is the best kid in the entire world. That being said, it doesn’t mean being a parent is easy. It’s exhausting and stressful and beautiful and fun and chaotic and wow. The list could go on. It’s beautiful and it’s ugly. It’s unique to every parent, but every parent can agree on one thing: You need to take a break every now and then.
Some parents simply don’t have the ability to take a long break. A vacation? Ha! You can hardly get a date night in, let alone travel. So most of the time, your break is only like 15 or 20 minutes. And that’s fine! You gotta do what you gotta do. Just make sure you are not kicking yourself off of your own priority list. If you can’t prioritize yourself, how do you expect to be able to prioritize anyone else? Plus, your kid needs to see a good example of self-car. It’s important! So what is better self care than sharing a few laughs with yourself?! (Ahem, this is where memes come in handy!)
