As a sage 25-year-old, I can confidently say that I do not miss being 23 in the slightest. I don’t know what it was about that year, but I was completely out of sorts; I was crying all the time, skipping fun events, and constantly sitting in my room alone, watching movies. Maybe I felt destabilized because it was my first full calendar year being out of a school setting since I was literally 2 years old. Not having homework is enough to shake up your weeknight routine a bit, but people who don’t attend college also tend to have a shaky 23rd year of life. It’s that transition from being carefree and crazy in your early 20s to being slightly more grounded and secure in your mid-20s. Maybe once I’m 28, I’ll see how foolish my 25-year-old self was, but I’m too busy enjoying these hilarious memes for now.
