I can’t believe we’re already nostalgic for the 2000s, but here we are. The kids like me who grew up playing Webkinz and dressing up Stardoll characters are now fully functioning adults. And though we may still feel like the young kids on the block, plenty of the stuff we grew up with now staunchly remains in the obsolete bin. 

Researching these memes made me realize how much I had forgotten, and how much we share as a generation. I had no idea I could recognize a Barbie comb until I saw a meme about it. It’s fun to look back on all the toys we played with, the shows we watched, and the things we were inspired by. «Beautiful Soul» by Jesse McCartney came up on my Spotify the other day and it rocketed me back to childhood instantly. Where is he now? We may never know. But these memes will remind us where he (and we) came from.
