Like Troye Sivan and Charli XCX once said, «I just wanna go back, back to 1999. Take a ride to my old neighborhood.» True words have never been spoken. But the thing about time is that it doesn’t generally move backwards. Actually, I can’t think of a time where it did move backwards. Maybe in that movie Interstellar. But that’s not real life, so we all have to get used to the slow march of time. Boy, it’s relentless.
We spend so much of it worrying about the future that we forget that we’re living in a moment that we might be nostalgic for one day. Ever think of that? What if, while we were reminiscing about the 90s, we’re missing something very important about the 2020s? But honestly, I’m okay with missing a little bit of the 2020s. It’s comforting to look back. It’s fun to remember what we were like, what we wore, what music we listened to, and what we cared about. It’s so easy to let that stuff slip away so it’s nice to be reminded every now and again.
