Fall is officially upon us, and we know exactly how to celebrate. There have long been codified ways to enjoy autumn that are associated with a certain kind of demographic. You know what I’m talking about. Firing up a re-watch of Gilmore Girls, taking a trip to a coffee shop for a pumpkin spiced something, lighting a candle, and reading a book by a fire. These are time-honored ways to make a holiday out of the colder (but not too cold) months.
It happens every year, and it feels just as good each time. When the weather dips below 70 and the wind starts to pick up, something just snaps into place. More things feel possible to do throughout the day. You feel like you have more energy to get things done. It’s the best time of year to go on a walk through your neighborhood. Heaven forbid you meet a dog on the way. Fall is fleeting and wonderful. We try to catch it before it crumbles in our clutches. This is why we reach for memes. They make it last longer.
