My day has never not been made better by the presence of a dog. They have a way of immediately turning things around and making you feel like you can go on with your day and not just spend it rotting for eternity. All they have to do is wag their tail, stick out their tongue, or do literally anything, and I’m healed instantly. It’s very simple.
You know this if you’ve ever come home to a dog after a long, hard day of work. You may feel like you have nothing left to give and that you’re burnt out to your wit’s end, but the minute you see little Ollie waiting for you at the door, it all just melts away. It’s the best argument for adopting a dog that I know of. Sure, there are some potential negatives (expensive, sometimes messy, limits your freedom a little bit), but the positives far outweigh these, if you ask me.
