Dogs have attitude, just like us. You know this if you’ve ever not given your dog table scraps when they wanted them. They will throw on the poutiest, most teenager-y face just to express their feelings. They will punish you when you do something that they feel wrongs them. If you take too long to put on their leash to go for a walk, they will whine just to let you know. When you leave for a two-week vacation, they may seem stoked when you come back, but then they’ll pee on the carpet just to show you who is really boss. 

Just because they’re usually happy and wagging their tails doesn’t mean they don’t have certain expectations of you. You may think that they’re simple-minded and don’t have much going on upstairs, but you’d be wrong. They’re plotting and scheming and remembering… You may just not know it yet.
