My mother used to tell me «Fruit makes you cute.» It has stayed with me my whole life. Every time I pop a blueberry, peel a banana, or stick an orange slice in my mouth, those words ring in my ears. And she’s right. Fresh fruit contains antioxidants and vitamins and hydrates us to make our skin nice and our hair grow shiny and long. So there’s something to her rhyming words of wisdom. 

Unfortunately, I live in a part of the world where fresh fruit will cost you a pretty penny. Especially berries. Good luck making out with a carton of strawberries for less than $6. That’s highway robbery! But there are plenty of overlooked, cheaper fruits that are still here for a good time. Apples, cantaloupe, pears… we too easily forget about pears. So this summer I’m upping my fruit intake so I can be extra cute. And I’ll look at these fruit memes to double the effects.
