A cake can soften the blow of almost anything. As they say, a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. If my landlord told me he was raising my rent, but he spelled it out with icing on a cake, it would really help. Heck, maybe I’d even pay it then. Because everyone (who I’ve ever met) loves cake. There’s a reason most of us request it on the day when we can request anything (our birthdays). A cake is the perfect way to be festive, to feed dessert to a crowd, and to display a message about whatever you’re celebrating. 

We’re all familiar with the classic «Happy Birthday [Insert Name Here]» cakes. We know about «Happy Retirement Jen» and «Congrats on the Baby, Paul.» Maybe we’ve even witnessed a «Very Merry Divorce, Lisa.» Hey, I wouldn’t put it past ya. But these cakes take it a step further.
