Let’s take the intro of today’s sci-fi meme list to honor one of the best (and my favorite) sci-fi films of recent history: Wall-E. I saw it in theaters when I was a kid, and it transported me so successfully that it almost scared me. The film’s dystopian vision of our world (that doesn’t seem that far away) was so richly fleshed out that I felt like I was living it. Movies that are marketed toward children often have some of the best stories and the most lovable characters. Kids have good taste in movies, y’all. 

Kids also seem to naturally glom on to science fiction. Their imaginations are so pure and undiluted that they can easily conceive endless possibilities. And the best science fiction can make us feel like kids again. Perhaps the best science fiction memes can make us feel that way too.
