Sometimes life can feel like a dystopian novel— like the ones that we read when we were kids that spoke of a world that was beyond fixing. A world where it took one chosen teenager to fix it all for us and unite us as a species. I’m not saying that the Hunger Games are imminent, but I’m not not saying that. This is exactly why we turn to fiction. 

Fiction teaches us not only about our world as it is now, but our world as it could be one day if things keep going the way that they’re going. We have history to teach us about our mistakes and we have sci-fi to teach us about all the potentialities in the world. It’s why in times of crisis we keep running back to our favorite franchises. To Star Wars to Star Trek, Terminator… heck even to Futurama.
