25+ Jane Austen Memes for Pride and Prejudice People

I’ll admit it, I was in a stage production of Pride and Prejudice in college and I did a horrible British accent. It was a pretty poor production overall, but hey it was in the basement of a dorm building so you can’t expect that much. But the text remains a classic for a reason. It’s full of relatable family dynamics, memorable language, and of course, one brooding heartthrob. I feel like so many of our favorite contemporary love interests are modeled in Darcy’s image. We continue to root for a gruff, moody, introvert. Why do you think people love Pedro Pascal’s characters so much?

All to say, Jane Austen tapped into something so universally human during her career (over 200 years ago) that we still very much resonate with it in 2024. So it’s no wonder that her fans have broached the meme market… a market much more coveted than the marriage market.
