Having a hobby is incredibly important. Bonus points if your hobby results in fun homemade items for yourself and your friends. And knitting is a time-honored pastime, from the grannies of yore to the hip, young crochet influencers of today. I’m lucky enough to have some crocheting friends and have been on the receiving end of some great, personalized gifts. Getting a gift that somebody made for you is that much more special. Especially when you know how much work and how many hours went into making it. 

But, if you’re the fiber artist in the family, then you have to be careful with your gifting, or else people will start expecting things from you. And then before you know it you’re spending all year developing carpal tunnel while working toward the holiday season. And that’s not what knitting is for. It’s about maintaining a peaceful and stimulating hobby! And looking at memes about said hobby.
