There’s nothing like a good old Midwestern storm. We always get at least one really big one every spring/summer and it usually goes the same way, at least in my house. We go down to the basement for extra coziness factor, snuggle up while listening to the booms of thunder, and watch the weather channel like it’s the White Lotus. It’s one of the canon Midwestern events. We love the weather. We love watching it, we love experiencing it, and we love a good thunderstorm. Of course, we don’t love it when actual tornadoes make landfall and start messing stuff up, but that’s the risk we have to take as Midwesterners.
What might seem boring to anyone else is something worth planning the day around for a Midwesterner. You have every excuse to stay in your house and cancel your plans. Everyone around you is doing the same thing. It’s like you get a night off.
