Midwesterners come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and creeds, but we do have a few things in common. First, is a sense of pride in our region. It’s an easily overlooked one, not quite as flashy as the coasts and not quite as out-there as the south, so some of us have an inferiority complex. Like a small man who drives a huge car, we ride for the Midwest harder than anyone asked us to. Second is a sense of humility. Sure, there are mean, conceited people everywhere, but if you hail from the Midwest, odds are you’re at least a little bit humble, it’s in our nature. And third, you love food.

Whether it’s a Chicago hot dog, a tater tot casserole, or whatever your mom specializes in making, you love to chow it down. I’ve never met a Midwesterner who doesn’t love to chow down on a hot dish of food, it’s just in our nature.
