Midwesterners love nothing more than a slice of sharp cheddar. Or a cold, local beer. Or a bit of buttery corn on the cob. Or a freshly grilled Culver’s burger. We’re people of taste. Sure, it might be humble taste, but it’s taste indeed. We like simple things done well. There’s not much room for fuss in the Midwestern sensibility. It’s too cold for fuss. 

No, we prefer the tried and true, the staples, the labors of love. It shows in everything we do. Chicago is a sparkling yet utilitarian city. The dunes of Michigan are beautiful yet unassuming. Our casserole dishes don’t aim to be anything other than tasty. We take forever to say goodbye because we care about each other. We drive friendly and wave to our neighbors. It might be a simple life, but boy is it a good one. And we have memes to prove it.
