It’s arguably my favorite time of year in the Midwest, which is what I’m calling shorts and a big sweater season. Or if you’re an Anglophile, Princess Diana season. It’s warm during the day, but at night you’ll need your favorite cozy sweatshirt, sweater, or hoodie to keep you warm. Your legs get to run free, bare, and unencumbered, but you get to snuggle up under the warmth of a big outer layer. It’s the best kind of weather… late summer, early fall, before you bust out your puffy coat but after you’ve escaped peak chafing time. But, like anything in the Midwest, except cheese curds and potholes, it’s fleeting. So it’s best enjoyed while you still can.
