DnD is not for the faint of heart. It can get low-key scary sometimes. When you’re deep in role-play mode and the dragons are breathing down your neck, you swear you feel it. It’s like being transported to another dimension. If you have a really good Dungeon Master, then this is what life is like. They can whisk you away to the far reaches of a made-up Medieval land, and you will swear that it’s real. It’s like watching a really good movie, except you’re the main character and you get a say in how the story goes.
No wonder people get so attached to it. It’s like a whole second life. You feel your character like you feel yourself. You want the best for it and to protect it at all costs. You need your fellow players to succeed as badly as you want your own friends to. Because, well, they are your friends.
