25+ of the Best Gaming Memes of the Week (April 9, 2025)

Sometimes you can experience an ego death of sorts when you’re playing a video game. If it’s from a first-person perspective where you’re controlling their actions at all times, you might feel your sense of self dissolve into that of your character. The controller is an extension of your body, and the controller is an extension of the character, so you meld into one being. It’s almost as if you’ve stepped into their world and got to live in it for a while. This can happen with movies, too, but with games, it’s even more psychedelic because you’re in charge of them.

It’s a great way to lose yourself for a while. It’s no wonder we get so addicted to these games, it’s almost like they’re a second life we get to live. This happens with me and Temple Run all the time. Take my word for it.
