Getting really good at a video game requires a lot of man-hours. Nobody is born good at a game; they work at it. And it may not look like «work» to you because we’re having the time of our lives, but it’s work. You have to clock into GTA a bunch of times before you become an expert car-jacker. You have to spend thousands of hours playing Sims before you learn how to make a 1:1 replica of the Big Brother house.
You have to spend years playing QWOP before you can even take one single step. But this is the sacrifice of being a gamer. It’s what we choose to spend our lives doing. We wouldn’t trade it for the world. Because after all that time spent, we get to be goated. And what every gamer wants, even if they won’t admit it, is to be goated.
